MPUMALANGA -Lerato Raymond Kubyane(35) and Imil Frans (58) has reminded in custody by the Standerton Magistrate Court on Friday, 14 April 2023 after they were arrested by the Secunda Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation , Transnet officials and KZN DPCI members on Wednesday, 12 April 2023 for tempering and damaging of Essential infrastructure and Theft at Gezina Pretoria and KZN respectively.
Information was received and followed by the team regarding the suspects who damaged essential infrastructure in April 2022 at Morgenzon.
On arrival at the identified address in Gezina Pretoria, Kubyane was found and interviewed. He was then linked with the crime, arrested and detained in Standerton SAPS.
Through intelligence and informers network, the second suspect, Emil Frans whom was believed to be a mastermind behind all the tampering and damage to essential infrastructure and theft was traced and arrested by DPCI members at KZN on the same date, 12 April 2023 and was also detained.
Both accused appeared before the Standerton Magistrate Court on Friday, 14 April 2023 and the case was postponed to 24 April 2023 for formal bail application. Investigation continues.
