THE MEC OF HEALTH LAUNCHED THE ELECTRONIC VACCINE DATA SYSTEM (EVDS) IN VERENA, THEMBISILE HANI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

On May 06, 2021, The MEC for Health, Ms. Sasekani Manzini launched the Electronic Vaccine Data System(EVDS)
in Verena, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality. This is in an effort to speed up phase two registration of the vaccine rollout plan as a priority in the fight to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reach out to more people and save more lives against COVID-19.

When addressing the gathering MEC Sasekani Manzini said.”Currently, the Vaccine rollout program is at second phase envisaged to start on 17 May 2021 given priority to the citizens above 60 years hence today we are here with the Executive Mayor of Thembisile Hani Local Municipality: Cllr Poppy Msiza who also encouraged compliance to the Safety Protocols of COVID-19 even after receiving the vaccine. We are very excited to get into phase 2 of the vaccination, which means it is the turn of our parents, grandparents to get registered to be vaccinated said the MEC.

As a government, we will continue to encourage everyone to consider registering for vaccination as it is the most important part of stopping the spread of COVID-19 amongst ourselves. To offer protection to the people, and reduce the risk of infection and herd immunity.

The launch went well and saw more than 300 Senior Citizens of this Province got assisted to register on the EVDS in order for them to get Vaccinated.
