Suspected Belfast diesel thieves in court.

Media Statement Nelspruit: Three suspects were arrested for theft and possession of stolen diesel at Belfast this morning. At around 00:30 Belfast SAPS had a joint operation with Polsec (security companies) patrolling around Belfast near Railway Station Street. They then noticed a truck and a bowser parked along the road and went to investigate as to what was happening. That is when they discovered that the two drivers of the trucks and the bowser were draining diesel from the truck and the bowser to the tanks which were loaded on the trailer. Upon further investigation, it was discovered from the owners of the truck and the bowser that it were not supposed to be around Belfast. The three suspects aged 22, 31 and 44 were immediately arrested for possession of stolen property and will appear before the Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 January 2022. SAPS recovered 2100 litres of diesel. The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has applauded the members and the security companies for their vigilance and commitment in fighting crime.
