Nelspruit: 05 June 2023 – The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has sympathized with the Pillay family after the passing of their loved one, Mr Kevin Pillay on Wednesday, 31 May 2023.
Mr Pillay played a povital role in forging a good relationship between the police and the community. During the time of his passing, Mr Pillay was the General Secretary for the National Community Policing Coordinating Forum (NCPCF). Meanwhile Mr Pillay served for over 10 years as the Provincial Community Police Forum (CPF) Board Chairperson (in Mpumalanga). His works speak volumes more so for the endurable mark that he made through engagements held with people across the length and breadth of the country.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela indicated that the passing of Mr Pillay is a great loss in both the community and the Police. “Mr Pillay dedicated his life to serve the community of Mpumalanga and the entire country through fighting crime alongside men and women in Blue. He fought a good fight and spent most of his time encouraging communities to partner with the Police in the endeavour to create a safe environment for all. To his family, thanks for allowing him to work with us. May God strengthen and comfort you during this difficult period” said the General.
