MPUMALANGA -It is alleged that in October 2022, the vehicle which was transporting illicit cigarettes was stopped in Acornhoek Bushbuckridge Area Mpumalanga.
The driver of a grey Volkswagen Caravelle Lahore – Matwos Digemo, a foreign national was arrested and the illicit cigarettes valued to R243 000-00 together with the vehicle valued to R350 000-00 were confiscated for further investigation.
The case was referred to PCSI for assets investigation. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was used as an instrument during the commission of a crime.
The application was submitted to the High Court Judge. After the Judge was satisfied with the evidence presented by the investigator, he then issued a Preservation order against the vehicle pending final forfeiture order.
