Speaker’s Statement on the passing of Hon Bhekithemba Lubisi, MPL.

It is was great sadness that we received notice of the passing of a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature (MPL), Mr. Bhekithemba Lubisi.
Mr Lubisi was one of the young Members of the Legislature whom the Institution recognised as bringing vibrancy, dynamism and value, towards fulfilment of our Constitutional mandate.
He served as the Chairperson of the Select Committee on the Public Participation & Petitions, when he joined this sixth Legislature following the 2019 National and Provincial General Elections. In this portfolio he served with much enthusiasm demonstrating selfless servant leadership, representative leadership and clear orientation towards activism.
Mr Lubisi also chaired the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs further demonstrating commitment to the functioning of this portfolio.
To this extent, we recommit ourselves to living the legacy of Mr Lubisi as we work together with communities, to enhance our efforts to ensuring quality of life for all and especially the youth.
Accordingly we send heartfelt condolences to the entire Lubisi family and friends as well as African National Congress (ANC).
