KABOKENI PROVINCIAL TRAFFIC INSPECTOR ARRESTED FOR CORRUPTION

MPUMALANGA – A 39-years-old Provincial Inspector Nkosinathi Emmanuel Masina, based at Kabokweni Cost Centre was arrested by members of the Hawks Serious Corruption Investigation Mpumalanga on Friday 23 April 2021 for alleged corruption.
It is alleged that Thursday 30 January 2020 the complainant was driving a company truck loaded at the back along Badplaas and Barberton road when he was stopped by the traffic officials. It is further alleged that the traffic officer searched the truck and told the victim that he is not allowed to load people at the back of the truck.
The traffic officer allegedly removed the disc and demanded R1500.00 in order for him to return the disc.Â

The matter was reported to the Hawks Serious Corruption Investigation Nelspruit, which led to the arrest of the suspect on Friday.
He appeared before the Barberton Magistrate Court on Monday 26 April 2021. The complainant did not have money at the time and the traffic officer decided to struck the truck from the road and he promised him that he will get the disc back when he bring the money.
The accused was released on R1000 bail and the case in transferred to Nelspruit Commercial Crime Court until 12 May 2021.
