The Hollywood Foundation and Phaka Rugby Magazine Show are proud to announce the Yilali Yam Le, “It’s My Village’’ campaign that will give South African rugby clubs a boost by sponsoring much-needed equipment.

Community-focussed sports betting operator, Hollywoodbets, which powers the Phaka Show on SuperSport, in partnership with the Hollywood Foundation, has over the years been actively involved in developing sports from the grassroots level across the country.
Phaka presenters have previously identified rugby clubs that required assistance to receive sponsorship from the Hollywood Foundation and some of these handovers were featured on the show.
Last year, 24 rugby sports development clubs benefitted from the Hollywood Foundation and 14 of these handovers were featured on the Phaka Show.
This month, viewers can get involved by nominating a grassroots development rugby club to receive a kit and equipment sponsorship valued at R30 000. Should an entry be successful, Phaka will come to the selected club and feature the handover on the show.
“As Phaka, we are proud that our partnership with Hollywood Foundation has always put the community first. Our endeavour to shine the spotlight on grassroots development rugby has yielded great results in seeing community clubs receive the necessary resources to keep the game growing. We are excited about this new project and cannot wait to hear from people across South Africa,” said Xhanti-Lomzi Nesi, Head of Rugby at SuperSport.
Devin Heffer, Brand, and Communications Manager at Hollywoodbets said, “Hollywoodbets and Hollywood Foundation have worked very closely together with Phaka Rugby Magazine Show over the years in incredible initiatives in developing grassroots rugby. We have extended the selection of these clubs to our teams as well as Phaka presenters and former rugby legends, and now, we give the fans and fans of the Phaka Show an opportunity to nominate their clubs in their communities. The whole purpose of this is not only for grassroots development but for us to showcase and highlight the impact that these rugby clubs make for their communities and how the game of rugby uplifts them.”

Nominations for rugby clubs are now open and close on 30 April 2023. The first selected club will be announced on 09 May 2023.
