DARDLEA WARNS THE PUBLIC ABOUT A SCAM TO SOLICIT MONEY
The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA) has learnt with shock of an alleged unscrupulous and faceless Scammer who reportedly call Service Providers with an aim to solicit money from them, pretending to be the DARDLEA MEC Ms Busi Shiba.
We would like to warn members of the public, especially Service Providers who conduct business with the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs and Government in general, that any call asking them to deposit or transfer money for any purpose, to TAKE NOTE that THIS IS A SCAM!!!
“It has come to our attention that some lady is calling a number of Service Providers, pretending to be MEC Busi Shiba, telling them to pay some money which we do not know what for. This is pure criminality, committed by a person who prey on unsuspecting victims who conduct business with Government. Such a request for money has no basis because the MEC cannot make calls to Service Providers, asking for money to be deposited or transferred to her. We would like to warn the public that this is a scam”, said Head of Department, Mr Cain Chunda.
