Broken down excavator indicative of a broken Thembisile Hani
A year has gone by while a crucial piece of equipment, needed to urgently attend to the failing municipal infrastructure, is sitting idle at a private residence. This while roads around it continue to deteriorate while the Local Municipality of Thembisile Hani twiddle their thumbs.
The DA will write to the Executive Mayor, Jacob Dikgale, and demand answers as to why an excavator belonging to the municipality is sitting idle at this private home in Phola Park – completely unattended for a year now.
The roads in the municipality are currently in a bad state and this excavator should be fixing the roads.
Such resources can make a huge difference in bringing in good services to the people.
This is just one of many real examples that exposes the negligence of the municipality. They have absolutely no control of their valuable assets.
Even though the excavator was reported that it got stuck, no efforts have been made by municipal officials to break free and save the asset.
Thembisile Hani has become dysfunctional due to such negligence. The Mayor must attend to this with urgency by making sure that the excavator is removed from the resident’s home and fixed to ensure that it is in working order.
The DA will not watch municipal resources go to waste. The residents of this municipality deserve a government that delivers services and makes sure there is visible difference in the community.
